John Altamura is an American author whose fiction explores grief, memory, addiction, family wounds, and survival in the aftermath of public and private tragedy. His debut novel, Seven Years in Chicago: A Journey of Growth — Part I: Survival, begins a seven-book literary series centered on Jack Almanti, Sarah Bryant, and Emily Bryant, three lives fractured by September 11 and its long aftermath. Drawing from lived emotional memory, early-2000s America, and the difficult road toward reinvention, Altamura writes character-driven fiction about damaged people trying to survive what life has handed them.
